Crime Stoppers Honors Board Member

Lamar & Red River County Crime Stoppers Chairman Vicki Flenniken presents Angela Carter a plaque honoring Angela as the 2018 Lamar & Red River County Crime Stoppers Board Member of the Year. Angela is a ”True Lamar & Red River County, Crime Stoppers.”

Lamar & Red River County Crime Stoppers has honored one of its board members as the Board Member of the Year for the past 25 years. This award is presented to a member that has gone above and beyond during the year.

The first recipient was JB Lowery in 1994. Since then Sherry Jones Williams, Billy Copeland, Gary Pirtle, Kelly Ferguson, William (Buddy) Heuberger, Kim Hill, Rick Mackey, Doreen Ruthart, Sonya Lawrence, Jim Noble, Linda Belcher, Crystal Preston, Bill Clarke, Robert High, Jon McFadden, Johnny Williams, Vicki Flenniken, Lynn Patterson, Sally Wright, Joe McCarthy, Dale Loughmiller, Laurie Redus and Sherrie White have received the honor.

Angela Carter has been selected as the 2018 Board Member of the Year. She has been a bright light on the board. Her enthusiasm is contagious and was much needed when Carter joined the board. Angela has served as the Fundraiser Committee Chair for the past two years, and she has developed a new fundraiser each year. Last year we held our first Let’s Put Crime to Bed fundraiser which at the time no one had a clue what a “Bed Race” was but her creativity and go get attitude got it done. This year she created the Mix it up and Stew it fundraiser which will be held on February 2, 2019, at Paris Harley Davidson.

Lamar & Red River County Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of persons who have committed criminal acts, the location of wanted persons, the recovery of stolen property or the area of illegal drugs/narcotics.
