Deputies arrested 58-year-old Scott Arthur Gorton Sunday for Possession of a Controlled Substance. They booked him into the Hopkins County Jail, where the bond is $20,000.

Hopkins County Deputies arrested a 42-year-old Cumby woman over the weekend for allegedly assaulting her ex-husband, who lived with her at a County Road 1127 address. Further investigation revealed that the woman had reportedly thrown items at the man, slapped him, and threw him onto a bed. As a result, they arrested her for misdemeanor assault-family violence and ordered her to stay away from her ex-spouse.
