At this week’s meeting, the Sulphur Springs City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance mandating a curfew for unaccompanied children. The regulation is a safety measure. It allows a penalty, a citation, or warning, for unaccompanied minors out late at night by themselves. It also allows the officer to take the youth home for violating the curfew. The council has the second and final reading of the ordinance at the April meeting.
