Daingerfield State Park Fall Full

Fall Fun begins at Daingerfield State Park!

Daingerfield, TX— Daingerfield State Park is the perfect place to kick off the fall beginning in September. During the month, the park will host twenty-two programs focused on family entertainment and learning about our natural world. The park will conduct Ranger led hikes around the lake which wind through the “Cathedral of the Trees.”

Also during September, you will have a chance to explore aquatic life on several Saturdays during our Underwater Discovery programs. Paddle boarding and kayaking classes and excursions with a Ranger will get you out on the water. Remember all of our programs are FREE. Have fun making nature art on selected Saturdays. To bring each action packed Saturday to a fitting conclusion, we will host a Dance with classics from our vintage jukebox from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

New for the month will be campfire songs with Rich Eells at the Amphitheater which will run for an hour before our traditional Saturday night dances. The last weekend of the month will be a lot of fun with the theme “Searchin for Bigfoot!” On that Friday night, the park will present, “The Legend of Boggy Creek” which is a classic from 1972. The Dance Patio at our historic Pavilion will show the movie. On Saturday, we will host multiple interpretative programs on Skulls and Skins, Bigfoot Kids Story, Bigfoot Crafts and an actual ranger led expedition “Searchin for Bigfoot” after dark! Even our Dance will have a special guest that night!

Bring a picnic and enjoy the newly enhanced views from our day-use area. Fish off our pier or rent a boat and try your luck throughout the lake. Commonly you can catch crappie, bluegill, bass, catfish and chain pickerel. Swim in the clear, spring fed waters of Lake Daingerfield before it gets too chilly. Hike our trails or just relax under a giant shade tree recharging your soul!

Park entrance fees are $4 for adults with kids 12 and under always free. Senior Texans 65 or older will only pay $2 to enter the park daily with a Bluebonnet Pass. The purchase of a Texas State Park Annual Pass for $70 which is good for over 12 months gives you unlimited park entrances for you and everyone in your vehicle. All programs are free with paid entrance fees. For more information on this or other events and programs at Daingerfield State Park, please visit our Facebook page or call (903) 645-2921.
