Press Release From Mt Pleasant Police Chief Wayne Isbell
On June 19 at 8:00 pm, an armed robbery occurred at the Russell Cellular/Verizon store located at 1009 S. Jefferson St. A lone male entered the business posing as a customer. The suspect asked for a product which required the employee to a back storage room. The suspect followed the store employee to the back room and produced a handgun. The suspect then demanded the employee open the store safe. After the safe was opened the suspect bound the victim with zip ties and stole money and cellular products.
Mount Pleasant Police Criminal Investigations Unit put out a Facebook post about the robbery and received information that other robberies matching this suspect had been committed in metroplex cities of Rowlett, Duncanville, and Farmers Branch.
From numerous reported tips the suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Chaddrick Tremaine Johnson, height 5’8″, weight 180 lbs., front gold teeth, and may be partially or completely bald and with and without facial hair. Johnson was last known to be driving a 1995 beige or silver Mercury Grand Marquis with a paper tag number being 649590F.
Johnson has a Mount Pleasant outstanding felony arrest warrant for Aggravated Robbery and has several other felony arrest warrants, including Aggravated Robbery from Farmers Branch.
Johnson is considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach. Johnson has known ties with Mount Pleasant, Sulphur Springs, and the DFW metro area. If you know where Johnson is you are asked to call your local law enforcement authority at 911.
