Over 100 children in Texas have died of heat stroke from being left inside a vehicle since 1998. Oftentimes, the adult is distracted by other events and the children are inadvertently left in the vehicle. One way to help you to remember is to put something else important such as your cell phone or purse in the backseat along with the child. The temperature in a vehicle can rise quickly in a short time. Never leave children or pets in a vehicle, even for just a few minutes. Leaving windows “cracked” doesn’t help as it only reduces temperatures by a few degrees. Beat the heat. Check the back seat.
