Decision On Pandemic Church Closures Will Go To The Voters

Whether churches or other places of worship will be allowed to remain open during a pandemic or any disaster will now be up to Texas voters in November. The Texas House overwhelmingly passed a senate resolution on the measure on Tuesday. State Rep Jeff Leach sponsored the Senate Resolution, which would codify the religious liberty of churches in the state constitution. State Rep Toni Rose took exception to the picking and choosing of when the government can act.
