DENISON – TxDOT’s Travel Information Center on U.S. Hwy 75 north of Denison will host the Plan While You Can sober ride public safety campaign and fun holiday activities from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Dec. 23.

TxDOT Traffic Safety Specialist Monica Freeman will share Bernard the Bear books with center visitors and their children. Visitors can don fatal vision goggles while attempting to catch a wrapped gift, take a mock field sobriety test, and visit with a Texas Department of Public Safety representative about the dangers of drinking and driving.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be on hand to greet visitors and sit with them for photos. The Travel Information Center is at Exit 74 on U.S. Hwy. 75 north of Denison.

TxDOT’s 12 travel information centers promote tourism to and within Texas, provide visitors with a vital rest stop, offer vending machines for snacks and beverages, and provide travel assistance from travel counselors. The centers and counselors create a positive first impression of Texas, help travelers choose travel routes, and provide detailed information on destinations, events, and road conditions.
