Details Emerge About Blossom Solar Farm

Plans for a $12.1-million solar farm near Blossom call for about 80 workers to be employed for five to eight months to construct the facility. Work should be completed by the end of the year and will provide enough energy to power 1500 houses. Plans include a 50%, five-year Tax Abatement from Lamar County, but no abatements from Prairiland ISD and Paris Junior College. The plant will provide about $133,000 a year in new tax revenue to Prairiland.
