Longview- It was a record-setting day for Texas Dixie Youth Baseball at The Reserve Sunday morning with a record $133,226.13 in winning bids. It showed proof that Dixie is one of Texas’ top baseball programs, one of eleven states making up the organization.
“Our leagues deserve the best support we can give them,” said Dixie State Director Wes Skelton.
Paris Optimist Club continued to show its care for the kids in their community and throughout the state, providing a significant economic impact to Lamar County as they coughed up $28,409. They will host the North Zone T-Ball Division I and II on June 25, 26, and 27. It took $12,520 to secure it by beating out Franklin County.
Paris Optimist didn’t stop there, as they locked up the 7U, 6U, and 8U Classic with a winning bid of $15,889. They beat out Franklin and East Montgomery counties and Corsicana. The tournaments are on the last weekend of June.
Center was another big winner by snagging the South T-Ball Division I and II, 9U, and 11U (June 25-27), and the South O-Zone Division I and II played July 2-4. The Center’s organization spent $45,666.13 combined on all six tournaments.
Other winners included:
- Hallsville won the North Zone Coach Pitch Division I and II.
- Kilgore took the South Zone Coach Pitch Division I and II.
- Corsicana won the North Zone AAA Division I and II.
Texarkana South had the winning bid for the 12U and 10U Classic.
Franklin County will be hosting the North Zone Ozone Division I and II as they secured it with a winning bid of $14,100. That tournament is from July 2 through July 4.
Over 200 were in attendance for the Annual Texas Dixie Conference, raising over $600 for the Texas Dixie Scholarship Fund. In addition, there were over several thousand dollars of prizes given away.
