DPS Releases Arrest Affidavit On Wolfe City Officer’s Arrest

The DPS has released the probable cause affidavit for Wolfe City Police Officer Shawn Lucas’ arrest for murder. The affidavit says his department dispatched him to a convenience store in Wolfe City for a possible fight in progress. The affidavit says Jonathan Price greets Lucas when he arrives, asking “you doing good” several times and trying to shake Lucas’ hand. Lucas thought Price was drunk and tried to detain him, but Price started walking away, and Lucas grabbed him. Lucas warned Price he’d use his Taser, and when he fired, Price started walking toward Lucas, so he fired his handgun, hitting Price four times. Lucas said he thought Price was trying to take his Taser.
