East Texas Bakers Refuse To Make Wedding Cake For Same Sex Couples

Owners of a Longview bakery who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple have received online death threats and have retained an attorney from Liberty Institute of Plano. Two Kilgore men went to Kern’s Bake Shop in Longview asking for an estimate on a wedding cake, but the owners of the bakery said they did not do same sex weddings because of their religious beliefs. Attorney Michael Berry says the Kern family is on firm legal footing.
