East Texas Deputy Injured Serving Warrant

An East Texas deputy serving a warrant for injury to a child was seriously injured when he was pushed through a window. The suspect, Tyler Shane Kennedy, was subdued and arrested by another Smith County Deputy. The injured deputy, Joshua Cox, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of multiple lacerations. In addition to the original warrant, Kennedy is now charged with Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant, with bond set at $750,000.
