Press Release by Cypress Basin Hospice
On Tuesday, April 24, Cypress Basin Hospice participated in East Texas Giving Day, an 18-hour day of giving presented by East Texas Communities Foundation. Cypress Basin Hospice set out to raise $5,000 to cover the cost of 40 days of charitable care for charity patients on hospice service. With the help of the Burt and Nancy Marans Charitable Fund providing the funds for a $2,500 matching funds grant, Cypress Basin Hospice was able to raise the $5,000 early on during the campaign and later raised their goal to $8,000 for 65 days of charitable care. Thanks to all of our generous donors and supporters, with just 1 hour shy of East Texas Giving Day 2018 coming to an end, Cypress Basin Hospice was able to meet that goal, raising a total of $8,066!
“East Texas Giving Day was a huge success for Cypress Basin Hospice! Funds were raised, our mission was shared, and we will now take these funds to provide medications, medical equipment, and medical supplies to hospice patients on our service who truly need them. These funds that were raised will make a significant difference in the lives of these patients and their families. We are very grateful to everyone who donated to us through East Texas Giving Day and to everyone who shared our mission to help us reach our goal.” Niki Haynes, Community Resource Development for Cypress Basin Hospice.
With preliminary numbers of 2,475 donations totaling $755,428.00 given to 154 organizations in East Texas through East Texas Giving Day, Cypress Basin Hospice was ranked 21st with total monetary donations raised, and fifth the total number of individual donors out of the 154 participating organizations.
