East Texas Inmate Found Dead

A Smith County Jail inmate was found dead early Monday morning. Authorities say 21-year-old Carlos Jose Hernandez was found hanging from the shower in an adjacent cell. First responders attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful. Hernandez was in jail on drug charges and was also being held on an Immigration detainer.
