The operator of a bass boat that struck and killed a 14-year-old boy on Lake Palestine has been arrested. Jeffrey Joe Hampton of, Tyler, was arrested by Game Wardens for Manslaughter and Failure to Stop and Render Aid, with bond set at $850,000. The boy who was killed was identified as 14-year-old Roberto Carlos Bermejo of Tyler.
