East Texas Man Charged With New Jersey Man’s Murder

A New Jersey man was stabbed to death a party in Henderson County and an East Texas man has been arrested on murder charges. Athens police say 27 year old Mark Groendyk was transported to a local hospital by a private vehicle and then flown to ETMC in Tyler where he died. The suspect was identified  by witnesses as 25 year old Robert Lane of Athens, who fled the scene after the stabbing.  He was later arrested in Flint, and is being held on $1 million bond.
