East Texas Man Dead In Officer Involved Shooting

An East Texas Sheriff’s Deputy has fatally shot a burglary suspect in a ditch along I-20 near Longview. Reportedly, 37-year-old Dewayne Morgan, of Tatum, was pronounced dead Sunday night at a hospital. Deputy Logan Joines was treated for minor injuries from the attack. Joines attempted to subdue Morgan with a taser, but that had no effect and he was forced to shoot Morgan during the fight.
