East Texas Man Dies In Crash With Garbage Truck

An East Texas man was killed Monday when his pickup and a garbage truck collided in Smith County. State troopers say 23 year old Zachary Piper of Athens crossed over the center line on Hwy 31 and collided with the truck. He was dead at the scene. The driver of the garbage truck was taken to ETMC inTyler in undisclosed condition.
