After a five-day trial in federal court in Tyler, Desnique Deshawn Herndon was found guilty of six counts of sex trafficking and one count of conspiracy to commit the sex trafficking of children. Court documents show that starting in 2019, Herndon engaged in trafficking several teenage girls for commercial sex. He recruited the girls through social media, “deceived them by promising riches,” and put them in hotels in the Tyler area. Herndon faces up to life in federal prison at sentencing.
