East Texas School Gets National Award

The U.S. Department of Education has recognized an East Texas school with an outstanding national honor. Atlanta Elementary school joins a small list of Texas schools to be honored as a National Blue Ribbon School. They base the recognition on the school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. School leaders will be heading to Washington next month to receive the award officially.
