An East Texas teenager died in a mobile home fire early Sunday, and his grandfather was flown to the Parkland Memorial Burn Unit with 3rd degree burns over 30% of his body. Smith County fire officials say the home was completely engulfed when they arrived on the scene. It’s believed the blaze broke out in 18 year old Allan Macias’s room, and the grandfather received his injuries trying to save him. The grandmother living at the home suffered smoke inhalation injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
