There’s a push to protect the mailman from this Texas heat. More than six dozen Congressional Democrats have shot a letter to the head of the post office, demanding changes to keep mailmen safe from a blistering sun they can’t avoid. Congressman Greg Casar of Texas says the current work environment for letter carriers is not working. They want the postmaster general to implement a new OSHA proposal that protects those who work outside. That means air conditioning for the mailman’s trucks, regular breaks, and more available cool drinking water.
