Electronic Voting Bill Makes Its Way To State House

A bill sponsored by State Senator Bryan Hughes has passed the Senate and is now headed to the state house. Senate Bill 9 creates a paper trail for electronic voting, targets voter fraud that can occur when people who help disabled voters try to influence how they vote and enhances the penalty for making a false statement on a mail ballot application. The bill passed with 19 Republicans in favor and against were 12 Democrats.
