Emergency Food Assistance Available

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission will provide approximately $204 million in emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program food benefits for December as the state continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The emergency December allotments are in addition to the almost $1.7 billion in services previously provided to Texans between April and November. Human Services received federal approval from the USDA to extend the maximum allowable amount of SNAP benefits to recipients based on family size.
