Energy Winterization Cost Bill Passes House, Headed To Senate

Texas taxpayers will be picking up a great deal of the cost for energy companies to winterize if legislation passed in the House becomes law. The bill would establish a $2-billion fund for energy companies to pull from to achieve a possible mandate forcing them to winterize. They rejected the House Democrat’s efforts to make the private companies pay for themselves.
