ET Commissioner Indicted

An East Texas elected official has been indicted for injury to an elderly person. The offense allegedly committed by Smith County Commissioner JoAnn Hampton occurred a little over four months ago. The Van Zandt County DA’s Office has been appointed as the special prosecutor in the case.
