ET Man Shot By Officer Identified

Authorities have identified the East Texas man shot by a Smith County Deputy during a traffic stop as Kenneth Alan Carner, of Larue. Officials say Carner came towards Deputy Lauren Fite in a threatening manner after he was stopped for driving on the wrong side of the road. Carner was tased twice but still managed to attack the deputy and was shot after trying to take the deputy’s service weapon.
