Evacuation Lifted After Winnsboro Fire

The evacuation ordered Tuesday after the chemical fire at the Valley Feed Mill on Coke Road in Winnsboro was lifted at about noon on Wednesday. The fire started in a shed near the main building that was used to manufacture fertilizer and involved ammonia nitrate. No injuries were reported. TCEQ and EPA monitored the situation and said the air quality was good over the affected area.
