Daingerfield State Park

Fall Fun begins at Daingerfield State Park!

Daingerfield, TX— Daingerfield State Park is the perfect place to kick off the fall beginning in September. During the month, the park will host twenty-two programs focused on family entertainment and learning about our natural world. The park will conduct Ranger-led hikes around the lake which winds through the “Cathedral of the Trees.” As summer comes to an end, so will Paddleboarding excursions with a Ranger, so don’t miss your chance this month to get out on the water (remember all of our programs are FREE with paid admission). Have fun making nature art on selected Saturdays. To bring each action-packed Saturday to a fitting conclusion, we will host a Dance with classics from our vintage jukebox or karaoke from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The last weekend of the month will be a lot of fun with the theme “Searchin’ for Bigfoot”! On that Friday night, the park will present, “The Legend of Boggy Creek” which is a classic from 1972. The movie will be shown at the Amphitheater across from the historic Pavilion. On Saturday, we will host multiple interpretative programs on Skulls and Skins, Bigfoot Kids Story, Bigfoot Crafts and an actual ranger-led expedition “Searchin’ for Bigfoot” after dark! On Saturday, September 29, the Little Pine Friends of Daingerfield State Park, will be on site giving away new Halloween Costumes of all sizes that were graciously donated to them, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm (while supplies last whichever comes first).

Bring a picnic and enjoy the views from our day-use area. Fish off our pier or rent a boat and try your luck throughout the lake. Crappie, bluegill, bass, catfish and chain pickerel are commonly caught. Swim in the clear, spring-fed waters of Lake Daingerfield before it gets too cool. Hike our trails or just relax under a giant shade tree recharging your soul!

Park entrance fees are $4 for adults with kids 12 and under always free. Senior Texans 65 or older will only pay $2 to enter the park daily with a Bluebonnet Pass. Unlimited park entrances for you and everyone in your vehicle can be accomplished with the purchase of a Texas State Park Annual Pass for $70 which is good for over 12 months. All programs are free with paid entrance fees. For more information on this or other events and programs at Daingerfield State Park, please visit our Facebook page or call (903) 645-2921.
