Summer is here! Why not spend some quality time in the outdoors experiencing what Daingerfield State Park has to offer. We are hosting numerous fun and educational programs during June plus providing probably the best swimming hole in all of Northeast Texas! All programs are free with a paid entrance permit. Fishing, hiking, and boat rentals are all on the list of fun activities at the park. Don’t forget about our Saturday night Dances at the historic Pavilion. See you in June!

Also, a separate press release for our Second Annual Freedom Fest (June 30) will follow early next week.

Daingerfield, TX— Daingerfield State Park has been the place for summer fun for almost 80 years, and this summer may be our best! We have a lot of fun and educational programs and events scheduled for June. Starting Saturday (Jun 2) through Saturday (Jun 30), the park will host 16 programs focused on family fun and learning about our natural world. The park will conduct ranger-led hikes summiting Iron Hill which winds through the “Cathedral of the Trees” to one of the highest points in East Texas as night falls. Also during June, you will have a chance to fish with a Ranger, paddle boarding classes with a Ranger exploring the lake (free with paid park entrance permit), aquatic nature program where visitors net and help identify underwater life plus have fun making nature art scheduled for kids at heart. To bring each fun-packed Saturday to a fitting conclusion, we will host a Dance with classics from our vintage jukebox from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The first Saturday night of the month will be our Karaoke Dance.

On Saturday (Jun 30), Daingerfield State Park will be hosting our Second Annual Freedom Fest in honor of our Nation’s birthday, which will include a 5K Race, Dutch oven cooking contest, booths, scavenger hunts and finish the evening with live music featuring “Hurry Up & Wait” playing classic country and rock classics till 11:00 pm at the historic Pavilion under the stars! It is a free event with your paid park entrance permit.

Rent a paddle boat, kayak, canoe, paddleboard or one of our newly motorized fishing boats! Bring a picnic and enjoy the awe-inspiring views from our day-use area. Fish off our pier where visitors had many nice record catches. They commonly catch crappie, bluegill, bass, catfish, and chain pickerel. Swim in the clear, fresh, spring feed water of Little Pine Lake. Hike our trails or relax under a giant shade tree recharging your soul!

Park entrance fees are $4 for adults with kids 12 and under always free. Senior Texans 65 or older will only pay $2 to enter the park daily with a Bluebonnet Pass. Unlimited park entrances for you and everyone in your vehicle with the purchase of a Texas State Park Annual Pass for $70 which is good for over 12 months.
