Fireworks – Athens

Fourth of July Fireworks at Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center

ATHENS – The Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center (TFFC) will host the City of Athens’ annual Fourth of July fireworks show at 9:15 pm on Wednesday (Jul 4).

TFFC will be open for regularly paid visitation from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. Free admission to the fireworks show will start at 5:00 pm. Visitors are encouraged to fish in the stocked casting pond until 9:00 pm. No license is required to fish, and we furnish free bait and tackle. The fireworks will begin around or after 9:15 pm.

Shaved Ice will be available for purchase, and people are encouraged to bring picnics. KCKL (FM 95.9) will broadcast patriotic music during the show.

Pets, alcohol, and private fireworks, including “snap caps” and sparklers, are not allowed. TFFC is a tobacco-free facility, and smoking or the use of tobacco products not permitted on the premises. Please leave canopies or other pop-up tents at home.

The fireworks show is paid for by the City of Athens.
