Hockey On Horseback Returns

Hockey on Horseback Returns

Texas Arena League returns to Legend’s Horse Ranch in Kaufman, TX for two dates in the 2019 season. The first event at Legend is January 26 and 27 and the second is March 2 and 3. Legend is at 3018 FM 2578, Kaufman, TX.

Don’t think that this is Pretty Woman. Arena polo is fast-paced and hard-hitting with players using the walls to rebound balls and their mounts to move a competitor off of the play. It’s like Hockey on Horseback, and the arena allows spectators to be right next to the action.

Games start at 10:00 am on both Saturday and Sunday and will run throughout the day.

Make-A-Wish is the official charity of Texas Arena League, and ticket proceeds benefit their mission. For children battling critical illness, as well as their families, Make-A-Wish grants one-of-a-kind wish experiences that restore crucial hope and give kids a reason to keep fighting. Make-A-Wish will be sending one of their ambassadors to throw in the first ball and present trophies at the event.

Tickets are $10 per vehicle so bring the whole family or a group of friends to support a great cause and experience a new sport. Tickets are available on Eventbrite, http://bit.ly/TALlegends1, www.texasarenaleague.com and on the Texas Arena League Facebook page.

Concessions are available on site. There is grandstand seating; stadium blankets/seats are welcome and encouraged. Additionally, Nutrena will be sending an Equine Nutritionist who will be available for all your horse feeding questions.

Texas Arena League will be playing four events in three locations around the state – Legend’s in Kaufman, Two Wishes Ranch in Lockhart and Midland Polo Club. United States Polo Association tournaments are played at each site. There are individual military tournaments where members of the teams are required to have military connections. Teams and individuals compete for points to win the end of League awards. Amongst the high end of League prizes, Nutrena sponsors the Best Playing Pony award and the Sportsmanship award winner receives a beautiful Catena watch.
