Wildfire And Incident Management

CAPITAL INTERAGENCY WILDFIRE & INCIDENT MANAGEMENT ACADEMY

WHO: Personnel from multiple participating agencies

Academy partners include the Texas A&M Forest Service, Texas Army National Guard, USDA Forest Service, National Park Service, U.S. Fish, and Wildlife Service, National Weather Service, The Nature Conservancy and the Texas Wildfire Association. 

WHAT: Media is invited to attend Field Day to learn more about the academy and visit classes covering engine operations, chainsaw work, and tactical decision making in the wildland-urban interface.

WHEN: 11:00 am – midafternoon

WHY: The 22nd annual Capital Interagency Wildfire & Incident Academy provides professional training on a variety of wildfire and incident management subjects to students from different agencies and disciplines.
