Paris, Texas – The Cure for Cancer team at Cecil Everett Elementary made and published a book for the Texas Oncology – Paris Cancer Center as well as raised money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The book was written and illustrated as a project during their Genius Hour time.  As a group, the students decided to dedicate a copy of their book to Texas Oncology – Paris Cancer Center and to Everett Toyota.

Additionally, the Cure for Cancer team raised $200 at school by asking students to donate a dollar to wear caps. Everett Toyota originally challenged the group by saying they would match what the students raised dollar for dollar but surprised them with a $400 donation for St. Jude.

Facilitators for Everett’s Cure for Cancer Genius Hour group are Tracy Prunty and Kim Perry.
