Facebook Statement By Mt Pleasant ISD On Student’s Tragic Death

MPISD is saddened to lose one of our youngest Tigers, Logan Blackwell, a third-grader at Corprew Elementary School. Arrangements are listed below. MPISD extends our deepest condolences to Logan’s family, friends, and his teachers and classmates. ??

Visitation will be Saturday, January 11, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home. The service will be Sunday, January 12, at 2:00 pm at the Assembly of God church across from Mount Pleasant High School. The family is asking everyone to wear blue or orange to the services.

Logan Blake Blackwell, born January 26, 2011, a boy that has the prettiest blue eyes and long eyelashes who had boundless energy, loved playing outside and riding his new bike. He loved to make people smile and lived life on the wild side a bit. He passed away at Children’s Hospital in Dallas on January 02, 2020. He is survived by his mom, Crissty Blackwell, dad Jason Blackwell, brothers who loved to irritate and make smile all at the same time, Jason Blackwell, Jr., Preston Blackwell and then a sister who deep down loved and protected even though he didn’t show it too much, Adalynn Blackwell. Nana Donna Cheatham, who he loved to stay the night at, and then his buddy who he loved to go to work with and just loved and adored Ruben Zepahua. He attended Corprew Elementary, in the third-grade. He loved all of his school family and friends. Other grandparents, Jane and Wayne Blackwell. Auntie Misty Rojas. Uncles, Rusty Cheatham, and his wife Tori Cheatham, Austin Cheatham, cousins, Nathali, Christian, Hope, Marcelina, Kala, Royalty, Carson, Faith-Ann, Kaelynn, Madison Thompson Special family, Brenda Thompson, Dusty Thompson, Brandon Thompson, Cindy Martin, Tim Martin, Tommy and Misty Martin, Grace Martin. Logan was a very special boy to everyone he met and came into contact with and always made people smile. He will be greatly missed and loved by everyone!

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Services will be on Sunday, January 12, 2020, starting at 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God with interment to follow at Nevill’s Chapel cemetery.
