Fatal Crash At Jacksonville

Friday afternoon after 4:30 there was a two-vehicle fatal crash on FM-177 in Cherokee County. It was seven miles south of Jacksonville. A 2004 Buick LeSabre driven by Susan Lynnette Baker, 40, of Troup, was traveling west on FM-177 entering a left curve at an unsafe speed. Baker overcorrected, causing the vehicle to side skid into the eastbound lane where a Ford F-250 struck it traveling east. Randy Allen Roach, 39, of Troup, was driving the pickup. Both vehicles came to rest in the south ditch. Judge Rodney Wallace pronounced Baker dead at the scene. Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville has Wallace. A 15-year-old female passenger was also pronounced dead at the scene and is at the same funeral home. Roach was not injured.
