Friday night just before 10:00, Troopers responded to a three-vehicle fatal crash on IH-20 in Van Zandt County. It was near the city of Van. A 2014 Ford F-350 was traveling east on IH-20 when it struck the back of a 2004 Ford Taurus that was also eastbound. The impact caused the Taurus to crash into the back of a 2007 Audi. Officials determined the driver of the Ford F-350 was Terry Donte Rose, 48, of Garland. Rose was not injured. Michael Shawn McGaughey, 32, of Plano, was the driver of the Taurus. Paramedics took him to Tyler’s Mother Francis in critical condition. Justice of the Peace Scott Shinn pronounced Whitney Brewer, 33, a passenger with McGaughey, dead at the scene. The crash also killed a 20-month-old passenger. The driver of the Audi, David Hemple, 44, of Bullard, was not injured. Hemple’s passengers, Alison Kravetz, of Bullard, is in Mother Francis, condition unknown with Deanne Kravetz, 79, of Conroe. Three children, ages 10, 12, and 13, were treated and released.
