Fatal Crash Near Jacksonville

Saturday evening around 9:30, Troopers responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on US-79 in Cherokee County. It was 3.8 miles west of Jacksonville. Reportedly the driver of a 2004 Nissan Altima, identified as Kristi Deann Osborne, 45, of Jacksonville, was traveling west on US-79 and failed to drive in a single lane. He moved along the north side ditch striking several mailboxes. The vehicle then skidded sideways across a private drive, down an embankment and hit a tree with its left side and top. The car caught fire. Paramedics transported Osborne to UT Health-Jacksonville where she later died. Dr. Baber pronounced her deceased, and they took her body to Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
