At approximately 3:00 this morning, Troopers responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash on TX-149 in Panola County between Beckville and Tatum. Preliminary information from crash investigators indicates that the driver of a truck-tractor towing a semi-trailer was traveling north on TX-149 while the driver of a Chevrolet S-10 pickup was traveling southbound on the same roadway. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Kedrick Tramaine Parker, 34, of Beckville, crossed over the center stripe into the path of the truck-tractor. The impact caused the Chevrolet to travel off the roadway and caught fire. Parker was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Toni Hughes, his body was transported to Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home in Carthage. The driver of the truck-tractor was transported to Good Shephard-Longview in stable condition. The crash remains under investigation.
