Tragic Fatal Hit-And-Run In Mt Pleasant

Mt Pleasant Police worked a tragic hit-and-run fatality of Jesse Justiss, 36, of Camp County, Tuesday morning in the 300-block of W. Ferguson. Officers later arrested Republic Services employee Waylan Bryan Merritt, 45 of Paris, for second-degree felony hit-and-run, who posted at $10,000 bond for an accident-involving death charge. Police think Justice was sleeping near a dumpster when the accident happened.
