Fatality Reported In Rusk County

Last Saturday evening around 7:15 Troopers responded to a one-vehicle fatal crash on SH-64, five miles east of Henderson in Rusk County. Reportedly the driver of a 2005 Chevrolet 1500 pickup, Stephen Vanlandingham, 51, of Henderson, was traveling eastbound and failed to drive in a single lane, crossed into the westbound and traveled off the roadway striking a culvert embankment. Judge Joe Sorrels pronounced the driver dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
