Federal Judge In Houston Blocks Biden Moratorium On Deportations

A temporary deportation freeze was one of several immigration measures announced by the White House during President Biden’s first week in office. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued, saying the state would suffer harm if those immigrants were allowed to remain in the country. The Texas lawsuit claimed the moratorium violated federal law and an agreement the feds had reached with Texas.
