Federal Judge Strikes Down Drag Show Bans

U.S. District Judge David Hittner ruled Tuesday that Texas cannot enforce a new law that restricts some public drag shows. The judge’s ruling states that the law infringes on the First Amendment and free speech. The struck-down law prohibited performers from dancing suggestively or wearing specific prosthetics in front of children. State Senator Bryan Hughes of Mineola wrote the Bill.
