Federal Lawsuits Filed Against Texas-Based Telemarketers

Texas and six other states have filed a federal lawsuit against Texas-based companies Rising Eagle Capital Group LLC and J Squared Telecom LLC. Billions of robocalls were made through the two companies to landlines and cell phones using a practice where they used caller ID information through “ spoofing” to make recipients believe the calls are coming from someone they may know.
