Federal “Red Flag Law” Proposals Gaining Steam

In addressing gun violence, the so-called red flag laws are gaining momentum. The regulations allow a judge to remove someone’s firearms if deemed a threat. But Richard Hayes with Texas Law Shield says that requests to remove firearms are often rubber-stamped by judges, who fear a backlash. In addition, President Biden is vowing to meet with members of congress on new gun regulations as a way to address the Uvalde school shooting that left 19-children dead.
