Final Regular Season Week Of HS Football Tonight In Today’s Sports

Tonight is the final week of the regular season of  High School Football

Nacogdoches at Mt Pleasant on KLAKE 97.7, Mt Vernon at New Boston on STAR Country 96.9. Coach Art Briles says New Boston has some good offensive players, but, his team needs to concentrate on their assignments. Sulphur Springs will host North Forney on STAR Country 95.9, Melissa at North Lamar on MIX 107.7. Also, Paul Pewitt is at Queen City, New Diana is at Daingerfield Gilmer is at Liberty Eyelau and Rivercrest travels to Honey Grove. Hughes Springs and Paris are off. For those teams that may be eligible for the playoffs, opponents, dates, and venues will not be known until after tonight’s action.

In Thursday Night Football, it was a tough night for San Diego’s Philip Rivers. Playing for the final time at the Oakland Coliseum, Rivers threw three interceptions, including one to Oakland Raiders safety Karl Joseph on his team’s final play of the game, leading to a 26-24 setback Thursday night.

Dallas Cowboys receiver Amari Cooper missed practice Thursday with a knee injury but he says he expects to play when Dallas faces the Vikings. That game is Sunday night at 7:20 pm on NBC.

Some big games coming up in college football on Saturday. At the top of the list is No. 2 LSU at No. 3 Alabama. That game is at 2:30 pm on CBS. At 11:00 am it’s No. 4 Penn State at undefeated No. 17 Minnesota. Mizzou is at No. 6 Georgia. No. 12 Baylor is at TCU. And, No. 16 Kansas State is at Texas.

The Northeast Texas Community College Men’s Soccer team will travel to Eunice, Louisiana today to take on tournament host LSU-Eunice. They will be battling to take on the winner of Tyler Junior College and Jones County Community College (Mississippi) on Saturday to secure a trip to the National Championship tournament.
