A fire at a Deport home utterly destroyed the house over the weekend. Firefighters from Deport, Pattonville, Blossom and Bogota responded to the home on Monroe Street around 3:30 Saturday afternoon. They battled the blaze nearly three hours. The homeowner was able to make it out unharmed, but two kittens died in the fire.
