Fire Destroys Pittsburg Egg Farm

Pittsburg Fire received a call Wednesday afternoon of a possible explosion and fire in the area of the Enbridge plant on CR 1140. While in route, another call came in and advised  firefighters that it was actually the abandoned Texas egg farm that was on fire. The buildings were not in use and were vacant of equipment at the time of the fire. They were totally destroyed. The cause of the blaze was believed to be brush piles burning nearby.
