Softball selected for South Central Regional Tournament for the second time in program history.
INDIANAPOLIS– For the second time in the program’s four-season history, the Texas A&M University-Commerce softball team has been selected to participate in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament. The Lions are the fourth seed in the region.
The Lions will play in a double elimination tournament on the campus of Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colo., played May 10-12. The other three teams in the Lions’ bracket will be first-seed CMU, fifth-seed Tarleton State and eighth-seed Rogers State. The winners of the Colorado Mesa and Angelo State brackets will advance to the Super Regional Tournament, held May 17-18, hosted by the highest seed remaining.
The Lions will begin the tournament playing against Tarleton State, the fifth seed in the region. The Lions swept the season series in Commerce.
The No. 13 Lions hold a record of 39-9, the most wins in program history. The Lions have now qualified for the NCAA Division II Tournament for the second time in the program’s four-year history.
